How It All Started
The Bourbon Club of Arkansas was founded on a single conviction: the best whiskey is always better shared with the right people.
What began as a gathering of like-minded enthusiasts has grown into one of Arkansas’s most vibrant whiskey communities — united by a shared passion for craft, quality, and the kind of camaraderie that only good bourbon can produce.
For years, BCA has built a reputation for consistency, excellence, and access to some of the most sought-after barrel selections in the state. Every pick is hand-selected. Every event is crafted with intention. Every member matters.
With the opening of Mash & Vine, Black Sheep Bistro, and the Volstead Vault Speakeasy at E. 3rd Street in downtown Little Rock, the club has found the home it was always meant to have — a year-round gathering place for every enthusiast, from the curious newcomer to the seasoned collector.

Gary Penna started the Bourbon Club of Arkansas with a clear vision and the patience to see it through. From the beginning, he knew BCA needed more than great barrel picks and passionate members — it needed a home.
Years of building the community, curating selections, and earning the trust of Arkansas whiskey lovers led to this moment: two properties on E. 3rd Street in downtown Little Rock, three venues under one roof, and a club that finally has the place it always deserved.
Gary personally curates the Volstead Vault’s whiskey library alongside Abe Wyly and oversees every BCA barrel selection — ensuring that what lands in your glass meets the standard the club has always stood for.
